well on Christmas day i had to work...

which was OK, cause my families chrissy day is boxing day .

pumped out a few canavses for Kim for pressies for the day

the girls ...goddess bless them ,

went back to their primary school to perform with the choir at st marys for christmas eve.

.a chance to catch up with friends and teachers,

miss evie was a lil disappointed that she didnt get to sing joyful joyful,

and stoodout of the last song in protest ..gotta love a righteous teen !

Damn i've been a bad blogger once again...

got a pile of pics and layouts to upload so ill make it short and sweet and not bore you all too much .

i've been getting my camera out a little more ..

now the kids both have decent cameras and have control of their own images

hello bloggers hows things?

I'm in a transition time , which is always a good thing :):)

new job offer at work makes me Happpppppppppy

and gives me opportunity to grow and develop in my first career of catering .

(which means completing my chefs ticket)....boooo------yahhhhhh

but I'm sort a super tired of carrying the weight of the family's financial concerns.

and I'm not really one to talk about whats happening but i don't really have a vent place

and nobody really reads stuff...so hears a good place to have a vent ....

and its been 6 yrs of full time work for me --prior ,with kids it was part time )

with no serious holidays since last year..(when i changed jobs)

and despite the reminders that everyone has to work ,its falling on Paul's deaf ears and over a period of years i'm at a loss to understand why its hard to work for the ones you love ...i don't seem to have a problem..i like a pay packet and giving to the ones i love . isn't it easy to work for the the ones who are supposed to mean the most well i think so and its getting me down..its making my heart very sad , and I'm sad for the kids for what they are missing out on .and then i think well Lisa maybe your all about getting stuff and its a money thing..but its not that .its about motivation and persistence and for love ..for Family...whats more important ? well not bloody me , that's for sure .pretty sad all round really ....grrrrrrrr ..vent over .

and now to make myself feel just a little better

October Long Weekend /Family Day

Oh October,the end of another year draws even closer and for me it was a special little weekend,

even though i only had Sunday off :):(

Big thanks to the wonderfully talented Jo KKMF Kinder, for hosting a small scrap swaray on Saturday evening gave me time to throw together this little baby..been playing with this quote for a few days .

For the last 35 odd years the October long weekend has been a time to get together and catch up with all the crew , now in days of old ,that could be up to 100 or so relo's floating around -backyard cricket -bbq- and the Bathurst car race on the box..

This weekend ,torrential rain,bloody footy, and Qld vacations kept a bulk away ,but what does that matter when your gorgeous Nanna(mamma) is there ♥...i just love them all..big thanks to my Bro for actually coming to family day and then getting to the final as well.

LITTLE SCRAPBOOK SHOP RETREAT AUG 26-28

I've been away scrappin again, and had a hoot of a time at the coolest scrap retreat ever ..

so i want to give a huge shout out to the Little ScrapBook Shop,

for putting on a fabulous event ,lots of laughter and a great space to scrap/chat,

fabulous inspiring classes and meeting and catching up with my fabulous LSBS scrap sisters.

Now Cath told me not to bring much product with me, only my essentials .

and of course i did pack light ,but hey one still might need certain things..

but i gotta tell ya the free bootie was incredible ..a lsbs laptop bag ..

lots of supplies to match the free classes..oh my goodness..you LSBS girls are so generous

Unfortunately i only got to attend from late friday till

closing time sunday, boy its was so cool to hang out with my girl Zane for a lil while

its been to long , and to catch up with Cath ,met Nicole, and see many familiar faces .

Camp Mojo July 21st-24th

Its been almost a year in the planning for me ,and longer for many others.

I was super blessed to be a a part of a retreat weekend,(make that 4 days 3 nights) ,

dedicated to scrap art and bringing together a collection

of super creative spirits with a love for

Paper ,Photos ,(and paint for me )

it was fab to be around all such amazingly creative ppl,

from Australia wide..i couldnt help but feed off the inspiration floating around the room
heres a few lil babies created and nurtured over the weekend ,

Always needing a lil something to get it flowing ,i tackled one of the many challenges

this challenge was orange teal white and brown ♥
happy was this lil camper who won a major stash of Scrapware Bootie ..yay

ohhhh this was like my favourite challenge of the weekend

recycled scrappin. # items....so i went to the spray table and

*swiped the page of butchers paper-how awesome is the spray job-thanks mojo-ers
*headed to the sewing room and taxed the practise swatch

*scabbed the transparency outta the bin...

and a big thannks to the gorgeous lady in the photo with me ..miss Jo,

who whipped up that gorgeous blue flower to match her blossom in the photo

well i was in a BIG way when i was blessed to pick up a class with miss Nathalie Kalbach..

direct from Germany and a little powerhouse of artist knowledge and ablility ...

gotta tell ya i was so excited for this one....

so it was a canvas class,learning an interesting masking technique with gesso..

have to tell ya ...since this class ive made about 6 canvases with this tech.and they have such gorgeous depth that u cant help but want to make another asap.:)

oh im feeling the effects of very little time to enjoy my favourite craft.

long work days ,a loss of mojo and my failing eyesight

seem to have me spending very few hours at my art table :(:(..(especially at night)

but i do look longinly at its messy appearance,and on occasion,

I do bust into something special,

but it seems so few and far between.

i just feel blessed to be able to see all the amazing art online to inspire me when i most need it ...a big thanks to julie heard for inviting me to add to her special relay for life auction...and add a canvas to the cause .

yearly youth week festival complete with 40 or so bands and entertainers .

Maz came a visiting and it was such a fun filled weekend...

oh except for the dinner fiasco on the friday night

,which had us running all over the central coast trying to find each other...

major miscommunication issue ,

but finally at 9 we all met up and had a quick meal and a few drinks....
always fab to catch up with scrapgoddess,scrappermaz,jamier,crazymumand webgod.

or for non scrappers that leanne ,maz,jay,lucy and pammy .x

and lets not forget Me
with such a short period of time available...we basically didnt stop scrapping
or moving in some sense all weekend...
i think Maz may have needed a holiday to get over our weekend..
trips to newcastle for a skate event for PC
back and forth to do an evening pick up...
a photo shoot with maz at catho ,lots more scrapping...and a photo gig with lusia and chris on the sun.....massive weekend ,oh and we did actually scrap too...now where r those layout

such a big responsibility taking wedding shots...

a quick durrie with Donna DLol...well ive guess ive just outed us both... but its purley a when away from home thing ..lol..
anyway ..what an amazingly creative being she is ...
oh how i wish my whole weekend wasnt filled with work ..
but i was lucky enough to fit in one class..
.didnt really matter what is was
,cause every project was amazing
(really wanted to do sat art journalling class )
but work commitments allowed for a little saturday night creativity..yay
it was a class based on canvas pages, iron on transfers,transparecny ,
ink, paint and one trusty spray bottle .
my work was laden down with water ..
(hence time to fit in a quick durrie )
so i didnt even attempt to finish it in the 3 hour class..
but finally i did ,and im so happy with the final piece..
its just gorgeous....

its been such a busy few days ...

working weekends so has its pros..

but the cons are that this weekend i could have indulged in

hours of scrap therapy ,taking a little instruction from

Donna Downey

but this weekends workload only allowed one class :)

and its still not finished ,cause i soaked it ...whoops ..

now i hear u shudder ,but the class was funky cool iron ons

and then some paint and ink play..hmmmm

have plans for a skateboard..but when the op came up to scrap a plate

it wasnt like ya had to twist my arm..

i think it came up really well..and have resisited all temptation to eat of it ..lol

for a new skateboarding magazine

and to meet and skate with some amazing girl skateboarders
of course its a prime opportunity for me
to shoot some shots in such an

Time for a new challenge

i love this one of evie ...it was such a fun shot

and when i created this layout ,it simply fell together

a few weeks ago ,eviie and i were out and about ..noticed that the

local chemist does ear piercing for a low $25 including earrings and spray

so i asked eviie if she wanted them done....again
(long story but she let them close up yrs ago)

so she attempted...for like 40 times to get em done and the nerves just took over,

in the end i took her out of the chair...and now i have another set of earrings...at 42 ..lol

just what i needed....

in the end ,she did get them done...

we both have new piercings..lol

Happy Birthday miss Eviie.

celebrating her 14th yr,

she's growing up....she has a job,she is cluey

and she is becoming more gorgeous everyday ,

and to celebrate we thought we would do something a little special :)

because "i havent had a party since i was 7",as she reminds me :( whoops ..

and of course because she is a wonderful child and its nice to celebrate that with her friends...

now she wanted a photo shoot ,but transporting 15 or so 14-12 yr olds is a difficult task,so we contacted the gorgeous Kimberly at Norah Head lighthouse and booked for the weekend.

(now thats my mums home from 1949 thru to 1961...and my grandads home in the '20.

so there is a real heart connection to the place and always wonderful to stay there ...)

bookings available just contact Kimberly and Karl at norah head lighthouse :)

past blog hopping lead me to a shoot Leanne Stamellos did with a party group of girls and it really tweeked my interest....so paying homage to that idea,the shoot was a huge success...

individual shot turned out beautifully ....but those group shots are super hard to master the art of getting great positioning and everyone on focus ...considering the day i think everything went swimmingly ....i hope the girls and parents liked their package of prints and disc.

we got to make the most of the weekend ,a few of the girls stayed the evening ,bbq breakfast on the verandah ,morning swim and one very successful birthday weekend for all ....

we've been away

to the home of australian racing,

Bathurst,NSW

and not the usual type of racing synonimus with mt panarama.

but ultra cool downhill gravity sports ,not a sport for everyone to tackle ,

but 3 days of some awesome spectator opportunities .

Newtons Nation..a music/ gravity sports event featuring downhill,street and classic luge,and downhill inline skated the mountain.

other activities represented vert skating ,bmx,moutain bikes ,

parkour,slackline,and those stupid scooter things lol.

Congratulation to all the competitors who braved such gnarly mountain

and challenged themselves,especially on the rainy sunday ,which ,added another

opportunity for awesome spectator fun .

hows life treating you on these fine spring days ...

life is super busy atm ...with the sunshine seems to come more
opportunities to indulge oneself with weekend activities ....

poor asti's had the day off today ..so run down and bang out come the cold sores

poor darling ,but these kids will push thenselves ..and last week it was sport

not only our usual friday basketball game .she had AUS TAG to play all day friday

then the sleep over at vanessas..dont think much sleep was had and then she returns home on sunday and sleeps all day on the sofa....should have known she would have a breakout .but some kids cant be told ............................heres some pics from her aus tag adventure :)

its been an interesting weekend

on sat i raced to Maitland to pick up another dress

this time a super sexy 50's style red dress /lil black cheeries :)

its been a super busy weekend ..

yesterday i spent the day cleaning ,and finishing organising my scrap space.

a beach work out and a swim to finish.

late dinner ,a movie and a almost completed layout.

today,was the start of the basketball rep session and

asti has been selected to play for the Lakers.

one of the teams here on the central coast,she is pumped .lol

so today it was off to newcastle first game at 10.30 am and next game at 4.30 pm..wtf

ive been flat out this week,running here and there with

kids and sport,working full time ,trying to keep a heathly positive outlook

all with a nasty infection on my chest ..grrrrrr

this weekend asti's had a basketball thing /both days.

playing teams from tamworth/newcastle/maitland and other here on the coast.

next weekend we r off to newcastle for the start of the rep season.

she is so excited to be involved,ever so humble our asti....

even though she has taken to my training sessions
she isnt into team competitions ,just some skateboarding-her bellydancing

and exercising thru the obstacle course that is her bedroom.lol

a weekend with mary poppins

................

so ive been to town this last weekend

and spend some time with mmary poppins

a tour thru the rocks,a ferry ride on the harbour

a lazer light show in Hyde Park, and to top it off

a super slick concert in the domain ,with the legendary

Reverand Al Green,penman of such classics as "sugar pie honey bun"

"lets stay together" and "my girl".......

it was a wonderful weekend to kick back and relax in my favourite city.

all before i started back to work this week ..yay i love my job ,

my work buddies and the gorgeous lil ones that come thru the door every day..

so ive been super slack as far as art ,and the last big item i made was this piece

A friend to help bring in the new year ,

she's been away for so long ,

i missed her super creavtive spirit

and I'm so happy to finally spend time with

ok so it seems strange not to be blogging with a daily pic,

and its been a while since ive actually taken some

yer yer ya say ......no honestly.evy was over it ,

asti also so i just didnt bother .

150 days into yr 2 of the 365 day self portrait challnege .

but this year .im still striving for the perfect self portrait

so yep although it wont be the 365 challenge

you will still be subjected to my gorgeous self ...lol

miss chevey's got it going on

asti's got some 'tude now too

the kids have an absolute ball with each other

we loved having Robyn and her beautiful

kids here ,and can't wait to see them again

my home for over 4 yrs....well im locked out and its annoying me no end that i cant return to my beloved blog site...hooo hummm ..lifes like that ,likes to throw up some new challenges for us all ,and like the death card in the tarot deck ,its sorta taking me a little time to deal...
